HOW CAN I GO PRO IN FOOTBALL? IS IT DIFFICULT TO BECOME A PROFFESIONAL FOOTBALLER

To become a professional soccer player, one thing is non-negotiable: you have to be exceptionally good at playing this beloved sport. How do you become a great player? I have an article where we discuss the 7 steps you need to follow for that (If you are interested in this article, you can click on the side.). You might genuinely believe right now that you or your child is very talented, and you might wonder if it's possible to make the dream come true and become a professional football player. Now, let me tell you, if you don't know me already, I played for 7 years, until the age of 18, in the youth academy of the world's best team, Real Madrid. I believe I can speak with authority when I say that achieving that dream is VERY difficult. However, is it worth trying? I think it's one of life's greatest adventures!

I WANT TO GO PRO IN SOCCER

If you are determined with this idea and no one can take it out of your head, then this could be the beginning of your journey. I’ve had this conversation millions of times, and all those who understand agree, why do so many good football players come out of countries like Spain, England, Italy, Brazil, or Argentina? It’s because of the culture; the entire culture of the country is based on this sport. Almost every child plays or has played, everyone follows the country’s top division by watching matches, which provides a better understanding compared to countries where people don’t watch professional games.

The coaches are better because they have someone to challenge their ideas and compare themselves to, just like players improve by facing others who compete at a very high level and under the guidance of coaches who provide tools to better understand the game and overcome opponents. IT’S A VICIOUS CIRCLE! That’s why my recommendation if you want to improve to your best version, want to know where you stand, or want to try with all your might to become a professional soccer player, is GO TO EUROPE AND TRAIN!»

You might think you're at a very high level, but it would be highly advisable to try and accurately assess your level, and what better city than Madrid to truly gauge where you stand.

Why Spain? What will I learn there?

It’s widely known that Spain, along with England and Italy, are currently the top three countries with the best football foundations. You only need to look at their professional leagues and teams.
What will you experience there that you haven’t seen in your country? Work methodology, training methods that will be very different from what you’ve had so far, you’ll witness the level of competition in one of the best footballing nations in the world. You’ll realize that they aren’t faster or stronger than players in your country, but their decision-making, game understanding, and football knowledge are on a whole different level compared to what exists in your country.
What will you learn? You’ll become a player who can achieve better results in the same situations, and it will greatly assist you in moving to the next level, one step closer to becoming a professional player.

HOW TO LEARN TO THINK BETTER IN FOOTBALL

Most people believe that to become a professional footballer or improve your soccer skills, you need to enhance qualities such as shooting, passing, ball striking, or speed, among others. That makes perfect sense; you have to work hard on technical skills because they are the tools that will enable you to execute game actions better. However, these types of skills have a limit, a limit that cannot be surpassed. You may find that, as Arsene Wenger theorizes, technique develops from ages 6 to 14, and after a certain point, you reach an age where your technical ability improves very little or not at all, despite daily efforts.

Wenger suggests that if you don’t excel as a passer at 15, you won’t magically become one at 25, no matter how much you practice daily. Yet, there’s a quality that improves throughout your entire career—some call it experience, but in reality, it’s decision-making and game knowledge. It’s the invisible quality, and as Guardiola says, it’s the most important one. I understand there may be skeptics about this, but hit play, give it a try, join an online session with my team, and I’m confident you won’t regret it. You’ll see how much it makes you a better football player.
